Yeah, i know it sucks that large portion of people in healthcare industry are invisible heroes. People don't understand that doctors are just the "front" of the industry, with huge amount of people like clinical chemists etc. working behind the scenes making it all happen. Doctors are just the "sales representatives" who help people to choose the right product (medicine, physiotherapy etc.) for their problem. |

I know bear grylls is fake and gives bad advice that will get you killed. That's why i go around pointing out his bad advice and the obvious clues that the show is fake.
The fact that i volunteer to teach people how to be safe in the wilderness makes it even twice as frustrating, because mr. bear is undermining all that hard work.

i obviously wouldn't suspect its due to malignant hypertension, but encephalitis (which includes a lot of different causes) would be MUCH higher on my list of causes (if they had no obvious trauma) than hyponatremia because they drank too much water.
I have every respect for members of the healthcare team. it is the general public that are dumb shits, and they pretend they know things about the body as well as only respecting only the doctors in the healthcare team. |

You know, since I first started to study medicine, i was always told to RESPECT everyone in medical profession, and that means EVERYONE: nurses, paramedics, PHARMACISTS, etc. Since we are doing one of the toughest jobs on this planet. I don't know what your issue is, but you should learn to be proud of what you do, and give respect to yourself. Maybe then you could get rid of that bitterness, and give respect to others too. |

When a pt comes in with cerebral edema, i'll first assess the severity of their condition, and give symptomatic treatment if necessary, then i'd find out WHY they have cerebral edema.
And you would just assume that a cerebral edema caused by malignant hypertension is actually encephalitis ? Great job !
